Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

Night Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS The Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist evaluates equipment operations problems and emergencies in buildings on campuses having multiple buildings which are non-contiguous; takes appropriate action to return equipment to its normal operation condition; and monitors building systems operations to ensure their normal functioning. The Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist responds to emergency calls and reported malfunctions on mechanical, electrical or utility systems, e.g., elevators, hospital life support systems; apply journey–level knowledge in associated trades; work independently without on-shift supervision and exercise independent judgment to solve problems; call in and coordinate the work of other mechanics during emergencies. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect and initiate corrective action on a variety of mechanical, electrical and air conditioning equipment; determine need to call in and coordinate other mechanics as necessary to resolve emergency conditions.
Have a working knowledge of the building systems and sequence of operations.Be able to competently read and interpret prints for troubleshooting and repair of systems as needed.
Complete building rounds of mechanical spaces and take logs as necessary to ensure proper building operation.
Perform emergency maintenance, operation and repair of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility systems.
Perform minor maintenance repairs to Harborview buildings and facilities
Respond to, and establish alternate operating modes for, malfunctions of utility systems and personnel service systems, e.g., elevators, food service equipment.
Coordinate with campus police during off hour emergencies, e.g., during fires, bomb threats and disruptions of primary utility systems.
Coordinate with campus operations personnel and initiate operating procedures to maintain building environmental systems and achieve optimal levels of energy consumption including initiating changes in campus operation through computerized Central Supervisory Control System.
Work with machines, equipment and environmental building systems and the lubricants, solvents, chemicals and other fluids associated with maintenance and repair.
Operate hand and power tools competently and safely
Develop and participate in equipment identification program (TMS).
Use of common office software including Microsoft Office and applicable specialized software (TMS). REQUIREMENTS
Four years of journey-level experience in one or more skilled trades, including experience in heating and air-conditioning systems, mechanical and electrical systems. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
