Job Description
Nordstrom’s Network and Security Services (NSS) organization is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Core Infrastructure Services team supporting Infrastructure as Code, DNS Services, and Certificate Management Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with exceptional leadership and management skills to drive strategic initiatives and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure services.
A Day in the Life…
Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Develop and establish KPIs to guide team objectives and track progress.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide targeted feedback to enhance team performance.
Align team goals with organizational objectives for collective success.
Identify and implement automation opportunities and infrastructure solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Evaluate and enhance the scalability of automation tools.
Strengthen and monitor automation processes for consistent and reliable operations.
Manage DNS services architecture and operations, ensuring high availability and security.
Effectively handle production operations support tickets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DNS projects and initiatives.
Implement best practices for identity and access management.
Oversee digital certificate lifecycle management for security compliance.
You Own This If You Have…
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience (10+ years) in infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Experience in understanding code basis, including API design and integration techniques, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
Experience with configuration management using YAML/JSON and proficiency with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform for infrastructure as code.

Experience in digital certificate management aligned with industry security standards.
Experience with large scale network environments, utilizing various Internal and External Routing Protocols and Data Center Fabrics

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $141,000 - $258,000 Annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
