Passion for our mission and vision is required As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will perform the design, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of systems associated with space vehicle launch facilities. Typical systems include high pressure gas and cryogenic fluid systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Design launch pad, test stand and other facility piping systems supporting cryogenic and gaseous pneumatic systems. Perform fluid and structural analysis of new or modified designs. Select components and collaborate on system safety and process hazards analysis. Guide creation of models and drawings of designs. Perform system and component level analyses and document results. Draft and review specifications and statements of work. Draft and review operational procedures. Coordinate with suppliers on costs, schedule, and technical design requirements. Oversee fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified fluid systems. Provide input on cost, schedule and technical requirements to internal customers. Occasional travel may be necessary. Qualifications: Four year mechanical, chemical, structural, or aerospace engineering degree (or similar discipline). Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc). Knowledge offluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc). Demonstrated ability with self-starting and managing tasks along with team collaboration. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Advanced Engineering degree. Knowledge of ASME B31.3 and in-field oversight of construction, testing and/or operations of piping systems. Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with fluid flow analysis tools. Experience with structural hand calculations and analysis software tools (ANSYS).
