Summary:

Meta RL team is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industry, as well as Personal Communication and Social Connections via our game-changing Portal products. As a Color, Material, and Finish Designer on the RL Industrial Design team, you bring extensive knowledge of industry trends, forecasting, color development and management, and have the technical knowledge to translate a creative vision into production-ready materials and processes. Your insights, creative input, and development efforts will help guide the unique style and distinctive look of our brand.

Required Skills:

Color, Material, Finish Designer Responsibilities:

1. Support the industrial design team through implementation of material design specifications

2. Establish and maintain quality standards and consistency across a portfolio of materials

3. Interface with industry and manufacturing partners to research and develop proprietary material combinations and new production techniques

4. Assist in the resolution of design, prototyping and manufacturing issues during the development phase

5. Communicate and resolve manufacturing and prototyping challenges

6. Manage and maintain CMF product specifications for products in development from concept to production

7. Occasional domestic and international travel is a requirement for this position

Minimum Qualifications:

8. Bachelors of Industrial Design from an accredited college or university, or relevant professional experience required

9. 5+ years' experience working as a CMF Designer

10. Proficiency in communicating design vision, and concepts using 2D color renderings and 3D CAD and visualization experience

11. Effective organization skills, detail oriented, and experience to lead multiple projects across categories

13. Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, metal fabrication techniques, resin development, coating technologies, plastics decoration processes, and textiles

$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
