The Role
The Café Associate is a dual role of cook and bar-back; they are responsible for preparing and serving food items that result in high quality of taste and appearance. They also support bartenders as a bar support by maintaining cleanliness in the dining and kitchen areas. The ideal candidate will have some experience in a bar/restaurant environment, be friendly, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Prepare and serve food according to established recipes and standards.
Operate kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Support bartenders by restocking bar supplies and assisting with prep.
Observe and practice all established health, safety and sanitation procedures.
Prepare food presentation for catered and special events.
Assist in setting up and breaking down dining, bar, and event areas.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Uphold Sky View Observatory’s standards of service and hospitality.
Perform all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures as indicated in the Employee Training Manual
Qualifications
1 year+ experience in food preparation in a bar environment; bar support experience is a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of restaurant etiquette
Ability to follow written and oral direction.
Ability to work under pressure and independently.
Practice safe work habits; follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
Punctuality as outlined in our attendance policy
Ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
MAST Class 12 and Food Handler’s permit required
Ability to lift 50 pounds
This is a small and tight team- team work and punctuality is key to success.

Pay $21 - $22/hr DOE plus tip share
