Summary

Coordinates the procurement and distribution of a wide range of components, supplies, and services essential to the manufacturing operation.  Establishes and nurtures supplier relationships, obtaining lowest cost, highest quality, and on-time delivery.  Maintains system integrity, working with other departments as necessary, to best support our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Determines requirements for purchased parts and services utilizing the ERP system.
  • Orders components, shop supplies, and services for Heatcon Composite Systems based on production requirements and requisitions including miscellaneous purchases.
  • Interfaces with Service Department to schedule and process outside calibrations.
  • Communicates with suppliers to obtain cost and delivery schedule.
  • Monitors open purchase order report to ensure deliveries are on schedule.
  • Follows up with suppliers to expedite delivery when necessary and to achieve resolution for late deliveries or unacceptable goods.
• Evaluates supplier relationships and proposals while negotiating lowest cost, highest quality, and favorable terms.
  • Solicits and evaluates quotes using appropriate negotiation techniques and cost analysis.
  • Works with Quality Department to obtain supplier approval documentation and conducts re-approvals annually as well as DMR process.
• Maintains ERP system integrity through consistent maintenance of data.
  • Maintains item master information for purchased parts, including safety stocks, supplier lead times, supplier price lists and contacts.
  • Interfaces with Engineering to establish new product needs and sources as necessary.
• Assists Accounting Department in reconciling discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
• Interfaces with other departments as needed to support customers' needs, while promoting teamwork between departments.
