UW Medicine Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a BUYER 2 .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 7:00 am -3:30 pm, Fixed duration appointment

  • Mondays - Fridays

  • Hybrid role 2 days onsite a week POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Procures equipment, supplies, and services to meet departmental needs; conduct purchasing projects involving unique services and/or technical commodities

  • Utilizes a variety of procurement methods for multi-commodity purchases and/or procurement of products DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine Supply Chain’s objective is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise. This includes a primary focus on customer service, as well as maintaining appropriate levels of general, medical, and surgical supplies throughout each facility. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and comply with specifications and contract terms and after-sale support and follow-up

  • Solicit vendor response by approved, procedural methods for specific competitive acquisitions; selecting the appropriate method

  • Analyzes bids for a divisional assignment purchase contracts products

  • Coordinates with clients and their requirements, participates in the drafting of technical specifications and recommends technical assistance

  • Commits orders to vendors; prepares electronic purchase orders that are procedurally and grammatically correct

  • Provides prompt, courteous response to inquiries, requests, and appointments

  • Advises clients of existing or potential policies and/or procedures that may affect their requisitions

  • Monitors purchase orders and communicating status to relevant departments on a consistent basis.

  • Resolves any vendor performance problems.

  • Surveys and analyzes procedures and procurement processes; prepare findings, report and recommend improvements to management. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience as a professional-level buyer AND either an Associate of Arts Degree in purchasing management or a Bachelor's Degree; OR an equivalent combination of work experience and college-level training UW Medicine – Where your Impact Goes Further UW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
