Job Title: Bobst Folder Gluer Operator

Job Description

Operation of a Bobst folder gluer machine is the main responsibility. You will set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines, inspect equipment for safety issues, and may operate automatic adhesive binding machines that contain numerous interrelated process stations. These stations perform functions such as vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and delivering or stacking completed books, magazines, or catalogs. You will make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine, direct crew through all aspects of production, and monitor quality, output, and matching.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Bobst folder gluer machine.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines.

  • Inspect equipment for safety issues.

  • Operate automatic adhesive binding machines with multiple interrelated process stations.

  • Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.

  • Direct crew through all aspects of production.

  • Monitor quality, output, and matching.

Essential Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the set up, adjustment, procedures, capabilities, and limitations of binding, folding, collating, and cutting equipment.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of machinability of different paper weights, sizes, kinds, and colors.

  • Ability to identify paper conditions such as excessive moisture or curling.

  • Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.

  • Skill in making difficult adjustments to powered machines using hand tools.

  • Skill in operating complicated bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines.

  • Ability to read and interpret written work instructions to complete tasks and maintain dimensional accuracy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to use specialized hand tools furnished by the machine manufacturer.

  • Experience in making necessary machine adjustments for different paper conditions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Seattle, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55640.00 - $79040.00/yr.

The pay range for this role is $26.75 - $29.00/hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.

This is a fully onsite position in Seattle,WA.
