Amazon AWS Senior Financial Analyst, AWS Central FP&A Team in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Central FP&A team. The successful candidate will provide cross functional leadership across multiple teams and initiatives, and drive the overall Capex reporting for GenAI and the subsequent impact to Free Cash Flow. This role will drive strategic initiatives to improve the quality and timelines of business insights provided to AWS and Amazon leadership, including ongoing efforts around existing process improvements.
We are looking for a consummate Finance leader who can thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment, and who exercises high standards and good judgment. The successful candidate has strong leadership skills and business acumen and is comfortable at influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive core financial processes including:
Annual operating plans
Monthly/quarterly business reviews
Risk/opportunity assessments
Month-end close
- Enhance Capex reporting by:
Simplifying and standardizing processes
Implementing automation
Improving analytics
- Strengthen financial operations through:
Legal entity forecasting with Treasury
Finance and accounting controls compliance
Cross-functional project leadership
- Lead strategic communication by:
Presenting financial metrics and business drivers
Fostering cross-organizational collaboration
Building relationships across AWS finance community
About the team
This role is part of the AWS Central FP&A team. We support AWS leaders and finance teams by coordinating and consolidating deliverables, centralizing and standardizing processes, establishing financial controls and mechanisms, building tools that improve the speed of decision making, and providing insightful financial analysis on the short and long term strategy of AWS.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree
Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse
Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
