Apex is hiring a Test Engineer to work a 1 year contract with potential to extend up to 2 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to automating hardware tests for a new device. This role may require patience, good debugging skills, and good collaboration with other team members This is a contract on site in Seattle, WA. Rate is $65/hr w2. As a member of our team, you will help to ensure the quality of hardware and software for our cutting-edge research devices and research software stack. Join a world-class team experimenting with bold ideas in areas including novel input, optics, haptics, tracking, displays, computer vision, user experience, audio, and perceptual psychology. Work alongside expert Interaction Designers, Scientists, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Software Engineers to validate the technology that makes immersive XR experiences pervasive and universal. Your work will be used in building research platforms, user research studies, technology demos, and proof of concept prototypes. Responsibilities: -Work closely with researchers and designers to develop and maintain a test infrastructure for cutting edge research devices. -Author automation tests for Android devices, including data validation. -Design, code, and implement test tools and automation scripts. -Help to run a test automation lab for Android devices. -Conduct manual testing where automation doesn't exist. Required: -Experience with Android device automation and debugging tools (ADB/Logcat) -2+ years experience with a test framework (PyTest, PyUnit, Django, etc) -Understanding of Linux commands and shell scripting Preferred: -Experience with Javascript, Jest, and/or C++ -Experience with data validation (numpy) -Experience with test/device lab maintenance EEO Employer
