Warehouse Cargo Handler - SeaTac International Airport

Job Description:

Join our dynamic team at SeaTac International Airport as a Warehouse Cargo Handler! In this role, you will:

• Transfer Packages: Efficiently move packages from trucks to cargo containers, utilizing pre-loaded carts.

• Load and Unload: Unload packages from carts and strategically load them into cargo containers for air transport.

• Optimize Space: Arrange items in cargo containers to maximize space, similar to playing a game of “Tetris.”

• Consolidate Shipments: Combine small boxes and mail into larger bags before loading them onto cargo containers.

• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using scanning and tracking systems.

• Safety and Quality: Adhere to safety protocols and perform quality control checks.

• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and maintain clear communication.

Skills Required:

• Warehouse operations

• Packaging

• Inventory management

• Pallet jack and forklift operation

• Air cargo handling

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: Preferably over a year of warehouse experience, including the use of hand scanners, skids, and packaging materials such as tape and cardboard.

• Ramp Operations: Experience with ramp operations (e.g., baggage handling, cargo) is highly desirable.

• SIDA Badge: Eligibility for a SIDA badge is required, which includes having two valid forms of identification.

• Footwear: Steel-toed shoes or boots are mandatory.

• Availability: Must be available to work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the specific schedule to be determined during orientation. Candidates must be open to all shifts but will most likely be assigned the 1:30 AM - 10:00 AM shift.

• Drug Screening: A 9-panel drug screening (excluding THC) is required.

Work Environment:

• Shifts Available: 9:00 PM - 5:30 AM, 10:45 PM - 6:30 AM, 11:30 PM - 10:00 AM, or 1:30 AM - 10:00 AM.

• Location: Work in a large warehouse at SeaTac International Airport with open freight gates, resulting in unregulated temperatures. Expect colder conditions in winter and warmer conditions in summer.

• Parking: Onsite parking is provided.
