Medical Technologist

Full-time, Days (7 am - 3:30 pm) - RSWH

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Regional Hospital of Scranton , you’ll join a team and be a part of a culture that's dedicated to improving lives. Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required .

• Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Technology program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

• Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school is preferred.

• One to two years experience in a generalist role is preferred.

• Will consider candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (biological or chemical sciences) and who are eligible for certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP).

About the Job:

• Performs manual and automated routine blood tests.

• Prepares specimens for microscope examination.

• Operates state of the art laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.

• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

• Performs a variety of tasks; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
