JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Buildings and Grounds Supervisor at Penn State Fullers Overlook will be responsible for daily oversight and maintenance of all buildings and grounds, troubleshoot any issues, engage and manage contractors, develop work plans, and prioritize work assignments.

This position will oversees the daily operations of a team to ensure a clean, safe, and sustainable environment within University facilities; coordinates custodial and general maintenance activities; implements environmental policies and leads a team to maintain high standards; ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and quality standards.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Walk through each building daily (check water, HVAC, propane, lights, flush toilets every other day, run hot water when buildings are not in use). Note issues and assign staff or engage contractors to resolve problems.

  • Inspect the property daily (check for fallen trees, damage to deer fence, lake water level, other issues). Note issues and assign staff or engage contractors to resolve problems.

  • Building and grounds planning; schedule preventative maintenance for buildings, plan and schedule landscape maintenance and projects.

  • Oversee service contracts for maintenance and repairs with outside vendors. Ensure work completed by outside contractors meets contractual obligations.

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise employees; primarily part-time (potentially full time) technical staff including janitorial workers and landscapers. Provide ongoing feedback, support, and development opportunities.

Education and experience:

Minimally requires an Associate's degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
