Job Title:

VP, Loan Review (Remote/hybrid eligible: AZ, KS, TX, MO, NM, NV)

Job Description:

Summary:

The VP, Loan Review Officer will serve in a senior examiner role overseeing and participating in the examination of the Bank’s commercial loan, commercial real estate, mortgage, and consumer portfolios. In this role, you will manage and maintain the integrity of our risk management functions by ensuring that acceptable credit standards are maintained and that loans conform to established Bank policy and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts independent and objective review of loan underwriting practices, approvals, monitoring activities, and credit administration procedures.

  • Reviews borrower relationships to develop an assessment of loan repayment ability; validating that the risk rating and perception of risk is accurate.

  • Evaluates appropriateness of loan structures. Completes analysis of financial information to identify current or potential problems in credit quality and potential portfolio risk. Recommends changes, if necessary.

  • Evaluates the adequacy of portfolio monitoring and accuracy of loan documentation for loans reviewed. Recommends changes.

  • Periodically perform as the Examiner-in-Charge (EIC) providing guidance and leadership to other examiners.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Commercial Relationship Officers while contributing guidance for areas that require further development.

  • Recommends loan process or policy changes to the Loan Review Manager, based on portfolio assessment.

  • Prepare reports, which detail findings and recommendations. Submit examination results and discuss with Senior Management team.

  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies in Loan Review and recommend/implement changes to address them.

  • Periodically perform bank-wide portfolio analysis identifying trends and/or concentrations in industry groups, loan products, and collateral dispersion.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lending, including C & I (commercial and industrial) lending and CRE (Commercial Real Estate) lending

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to concisely and clearly express opinions, observations and recommendations in a confident manner.

  • Must be able to read & interpret financial statements and determine relevant credit risk

  • Must be able to work effectively with personnel at all levels.

  • Ability to travel to other Enterprise Bank & Trust locations

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred, or undergraduate degree with significant relevant experience.

  • Minimum five to seven years’ experience as, or in combination of, a loan review officer, loan officer, regulatory examiner, senior credit or financial analyst.

  • Formal bank credit training preferred.

  • Familiarity with GAAP and FASB guidelines

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge of database software a plus.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Risk Management Association’s CRC (Credit Risk Certification) or BAI Loan Review Certification a plus.
