Responsibilities Job Summary This position directs and oversees the following functional areas of Consolidating Entity Financial Operations: General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Financial Decision Support (including costing) and Revenue Reporting (related to Medicare reimbursement services and net patient revenue. Designs, monitors, and provides leadership over financial and operational controls throughout the organization to ensure financial benchmarks are achieved in accordance with the long range goals of the organization. Provides leadership and guidance in facilitating the complete external audit process, including preparation and analysis of the consolidated financial statements, management letter, and presentation to key leaders of the organization and board of directors. Responsible for Financial Operating departments to assure the accurate and timely completion of the monthly financial statements, annual audit reports, Medicare Cost Reports (and other related reports), Oversees unusual financial reporting requirements that emerge from grants and government programs, such as A133 & Prop 202 or changes in GAAP requirements to assist the organization make strategic and timely decisions. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, including liaison with outside auditors and manages the annual financial audit activities, directing the staff to provide information and access to general ledger and other accounting records as required. Oversees complex accounting transactions, such as, the determination of appropriate A/R and allowance reserves, Medicare settlements, self-insurance liabilities, etc. which incorporate into financial analysis and business planning that support operational decision-making. Collaborates with all functional areas to develop formal business plans that are presented to Executive Staff or the Board as appropriate. Collaborates with Strategic Planning to align analysis with strategic initiatives (such as service line development) and the Balanced Scorecard. Develop new and improve existing business processes to assess organizational financial effectiveness for greater transparency, more accurate reporting, and better identification of cost saving opportunities. Oversees the staff and ensures adequate staffing levels, inclusive of hiring/onboarding, evaluating, managing performance, coaching and developing employees ensuring employee productivity, quality of work, and alignment of goals with our mission, vision, and values. Ensures compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of department budget. Oversight and leadership of the annual budgeting and planning process; administration and review of all financial plans and budgets; monitoring of progress and changes to keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status. Oversees the management and control of all Hospital based Decision Support teams, including productivity reporting, cost accounting and other key financial management applications. Oversees the utilization and maintenance of payroll and time keeping systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree Required Experience 10 years healthcare accounting/strategic financial management Required Licenses and Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certified Public Accountant Required
