Robert Half Staff Accountant in Scottsdale, Arizona

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Scottsdale, Arizona. This role involves managing financial procedures, maintaining financial records, and preparing financial reports. The industry we operate in is telecom provider, and the successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the financial health of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to management

• Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation activities

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing and reporting on variances

• Maintain and improve financial accounting system, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve accounting procedures

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures

• Participate in financial audits, coordinating with external auditors as needed

• Support the Controller and CFO in ad hoc projects and financial analysis as required Requirements

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CPA are preferred.

• A minimum of five years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role or similar capacity.

• Proficiency in performing Month End Close tasks is required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is needed.

• Must have experience with financial reporting and preparing financial statements.

• Advanced skills in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

• Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports in a timely manner.

• Excellent communication skills to present financial information to non-financial colleagues and stakeholders.

• Must be detail-oriented to ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Must adhere to ethical standards and comply with company policies and regulations.

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different teams.

• Experience in auditing and tax planning is a plus.

• Knowledge of budget preparation and analysis is desirable.
