Responsibilities Job Summary The Coordinator Clinical Support Services Perioperative & Procedural Supply Chain position supports the daily and strategic supply chain activities of the Perioperative Services, Cath Lab, IR, GI Endoscopy departments.. Primary job responsibilities include medical supplies acquisition and cost control measures over multiple surgical department budgets which are multimillion dollars in value. Serves as a resource and liaison between Surgical Perioperative Departments, Procedural departments, and Supply Chain Services. Ensures that supplies are delivered to patient care areas as needed. Daily inventory and supplier performance management. Fulfills regulatory requirements including recalls and warranty management. Supports Perioperative product inquiries and service. Coordinates analysis and communication. Identifies and implements process improvement (financial performance, operational efficiency, service level). Project management of par levels, conversions, and space optimization Coordinates all supply chain activities to fulfill supply needs for the Perioperative department. Collaborate with Clinical Support Services Manager and other members of Supply Chain Shared services to align stock level to demand. Utilizes the ERP and regulatory required systems to track own and consigned inventory. Meets periodically with Clinical Support Service Manager to review budget and co-develop necessary interventions to contain expenses. Performs daily inventory of supplies according to par levels and places orders for replacement through appropriate channels. Verifies receipts with actual product received, identifies discrepancies and notifies appropriate departments. Receives supplies and shelves items in appropriate locations. Maintains appropriate par levels of supplies to minimize waste and overstock. Conducts Monthly audits of Bone and Tissue. Establishes a close working relationship with supply chain staff, vendors, and salespersons. Supports appropriate product conversions to achieve target financial performance Provides advance review of all scheduled clinical procedures, collaborates with specialty coordinators, physicians and representatives to obtain all necessary supplies. Responsible for maintaining good working relationships with all hospital departments by providing service, management assistance and open communications. Identifies changes in case needs and products using cost-effective methods. Communicates any unresolved supply issues/needs with effected department’s charge RN, Clinical Director, Specialty Coordinators, Clinical Support Service Managerand Supply Chain Director. Participates in discussion with company representatives to review new products with Value Analysis Team, Clinical Director, Clinical Support Service Manager, and Supply Chain Director. Works closely with Specialty Coordinators and others to make arrangements for special supply needs for identified cases. Maintains clean and organized work environment. Participates as a part of the Perioperative team in the inspection of all supplies for outdates and violation of package integrity and removes such items. Provides integral component of communication between Perioperative departments, Purchasing, and Supply Chain regarding supply matters. Facilitates a review of excess/obsolete inventory with Specialty Coordinators to mitigate risk of spoilage. Follows network policy on recalls. Participates in the investigation and removes product recalls as notified by ECRI, Supply Chain, Clinical Director, or mail. Coordinates with Clinical Support Service Manger to ensure adequate documentation of the recall is recorded in ECRI. Communicates with Supply Chain, Purchasing, sourcing and Specialty Coordinator to get appropriate substitute products when necessary. Reconciles bone and tissue tracking database on monthly basis Seeks opportunities for increased cost effective measures and provides input regarding maintaining or decreasing costs. Anticipates, recognizes and reports situations to the Clinical Support Service Manager, and Supply Chain Director, which may adversely affect financial outcomes. Consistently maintains Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and other Honorhealth compliance requirements. Frequently views medical information in patient electronic medical record (EMR) system. Occasionally enters non-clinical information in to patient electronic medical record (EMR) system. Ensures all required information is keyed in thoroughly and accurately. Frequently views non-clinical information in patient electronic medical record. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED Required Experience 4 years experience in clinical Healthcare setting Required
