SUMMARY:Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Responsible of supporting an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM located at Scott Air Force Base (AFB) in Illinois. The USTC Managed Information Technology Services (MITS) contract is intended to provide strategic, technical, and program management guidance and support services to facilitate the operations and modernization of the combatant command’s infrastructure, systems, and applications. This support will be provided to the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate (TCJ6). GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Participates in and leads technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the systems domain. Leads and is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, adapting and/or implementing complex short- and long-term solutions to IT needs through new and existing systems, software and hardware. Self-directed based on alignment to department goals and objectives. Performs system upgrades, configuration and customizations including planning and scheduling, implementation testing, and coordination. Monitors and maintains system performance and functionality, software licensing and maintenance agreements. Leads technical teams to identify and understand problems with systems and develops solutions to resolve them. Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements to applications. Oversees the development of user training, instruction, and documentation. May mentor other system administrators during complex projects of any size, including the improvement of technical and professional skills in administration. Performs administration across multiple products, solutions, and/or domains. The successful candidate works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently; oversees the efforts of less senior staff and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight (8) years. EXPERIENCE:10 years of experience administering applications. * Technical expertise in common routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), IPv6, VPN, etc. across a global WAN backbones and distributed datacenter platforms. · Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation. · Experience installing and maintaining networks in a DoD environment which adhere to security requirements. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Expert proficiency in the administration of systems, software, and hardware in complex environments. · DOD Secret clearance · Must have at least one of these IAT Level II certifications: Security , CECCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP. · Must have at least one Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility for Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.). · Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. · Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility. PRIMARY DUTIES: · SCCM (building applications, packages, Task sequences, .wim creations) · Imaging workstations · Hardware evaluations · Applying STIG & GPO policies · Virtual machine creations · Microsoft patching · Ability to perform Full Software evaluations · PowerShell / CMD scripting for enterprise deployment · Create/manage Standing Operating Procedures · Communication with the Operations team COMPETENCIES:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Self-starter and problem solver JOB SCOPE:Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
