Catholic Health Initiatives Maintenance Technician in Schuyler, Nebraska

Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Contributes to the fulfillment of the CHI Health mission and vision by providing for the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electro-mechanical systems, including all security systems. Contributes to the planning, design, and implementation of maintenance programs, policies, and procedures. Specific environmental attributes include maintaining and repairing equipment, buildings and grounds.

Works collaboratively with management to achieve system objectives which are responsive to specific patient needs by fostering a continuous improvement philosophy to serve the needs of all customers. Has contact with other staff and staff of other CHI Health facilities, but does not have direct patient contact.

Responsible for repair and maintenance of all hospital-owned buildings and grounds. Works in conjunction with CHI Health BIOMED or Bio-Electronics to ensure a preventive maintenance program promoting safe and effective use of medical equipment is operational and on-going.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Regularly inspects and evaluates the physical condition of hospital-owned buildings, and recommends painting, repairs, refurnishing, etc., improve sanitation, appearance, and efficiency.

  2. Prepares reports pertaining to work orders, work completion and departmental costs.

  3. Responds to emergency calls for repair to equipment of facilities.

  4. Assists with grounds maintenance including landscaping, mowing, snow removal

  5. Is aware of the quality initiative and is involved in promoting quality care.

  6. Considers all information concerning patients, medical staff, and employees as confidential.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Licensure and Certifications

AUTO:NE

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

If working in a unit located in or traveling to Iowa, or a Behavioral Health/Psych unit: Mandatory Reporter Adult and Mandatory Reporter Child - within 6 months; tracked through Learning system

Knowledge of computer systems and productivity software.

Skill to read and interpret building drawings.

Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional building standards.

Project management skills along with good communication skills. Ability to work with teams in a collaborative system

Pay Range

$16.26 - $22.36 /hour
