What We’re Doing

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team, as a whole, is very large but is broken down into many smaller agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also, responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work

You will act as the primary group for testing and applying patches on all main software/application systems on the system including workstations and servers. This team will be supporting the system by interacting continuously with the cyber team compliance team to remediate any vulnerabilities founding during automated or manual cyber scans. As patching can be an impacting activity, you must be a detailed oriented individual.

Please Note:

• This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance.

• This position will involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S.

As leader of the C2BMC team, Lockheed Martin directs a partnership of highly responsive industry leaders developing and fielding the backbone of America’s missile defense. Together, this national team supports the design, development, test, integration and fielding of hardware and software elements that enable the Missile Defense System (MDS) to function effectively and continually. You will also have the opportunity to interface with our key customers in the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

-You will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals including software and systems engineers, architects, and our project engineering team.

-As part of C2BMC-G you will support on site at Schriever Space Force Base located about 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The successful candidate will need to utilize good communication skills and good organizational skills to facilitate collaboration across the many organizations necessary to accomplish challenging missions.

Basic Qualifications:

• An Active Final TS Clearance needed prior to starting

• 3-5 years’ experience patching in an enterprise environment

• System administration experience with both Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems

• Candidate must obtain a DOD 8570/8140 certification such as Security+ CE or equivalent within three months of starting

• Ability to work as a member of a team in a dynamic environment

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Tenable Security Center is a plus

• Experience administering multi-OS patching solutions such as WSUS and YUM

• Familiarity with a shell scripting language such as Bash or PowerShell

• Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks, such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef

• Ability to recommend, build, implement, and test custom patching strategies while limiting user impact

• Ability to develop documentation including standard operating procedures (SOP) outlining patching methodologies and regression testing strategies

• Strong attention to detail

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $78,500 - $150,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
