Key Responsibilities:

  • Systems Engineering and Technical Advising: The (SETA) Engineer will contribute to government’s mission success through end-to-end analysis, thought leadership and proactive action.

  • Space Operations: conduct threat assessments and develop courses of actions; develop tactics, techniques, and procedures to support operational objectives.

  • Space Protection (SP): Assess mission and space protection doctrine, strategies, and plans; provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve SP architectures and capabilities.

  • War Game/Exercise Planning: Monitor, evaluate and potentially participate in war games and exercises; assess lessons learned for best practice implementation for improvement.

  • Integration Oversight: oversee space protection functions and capabilities of delivered systems; provide analysis of schedules, capabilities delivered meet operational needs.

  • Communications/Briefing Management: Review documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 20%

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters in STEM or relevant field, and seven (7) years or more experience.

  • Experience in systems engineering processes (e.g. SE lifecycle, risk management, change management, etc.).

  • Thorough knowledge of orbital analysis; readily articulates pros/cons of orbital changes.

  • Strong understanding of integrating Government capabilities into operations baseline.

  • Working knowledge of joint operations planning processes.

  • Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.

  • In-depth knowledge of space vehicle components; Satellite Control Network and related terrestrial space control systems.

  • Expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team; operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.

  • Self-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.

  • Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.

  • Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.

Desired:

  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator

  • Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, cloud technologies

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence

Basic Compensation: $122,400 - $183,600

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
