Systems Administrator

HOW A SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems

  • Sets up administrator, user and service accounts

  • Maintains system documentation

  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products

  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates requisition and installation in accordance with local policies and procedures

  • Develops and implements backup recovery

  • Monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

  • May program in an administrative language

  • Develops and implements application testing strategies and document results

  • Provides advice and training to end-users

  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members

  • Maintains and provides the guidance and troubleshooting for the hyper-converged infrastructure architecture enclaves within the network boundary

  • Supports and leads the STIG and RMF updates for all systems within the network enclave boundary

  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience

  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience; military experience preferred

  • Required Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in system administration and support; Comprehensive knowledge of the associated hardware, software and equipment; Experience in virtual computing environment; Required experience with HBSS, Dell VRTX, VMWare, VSphere, VCenter; Working knowledge and understanding of RedHat, SQL software and ACAS

  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance

  • Required Skills and Abilities: Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II certification (SEC+); Candidate must have or be able to obtain a certificate or certification meeting evolving computing environment requirements: Microsoft Windows 10 (or newer); Microsoft Server 2012 (or newer)

  • Superb communication skills; Must be able to perform with minimal guidance

  • Location: On Customer Site

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
