Aerotek Maintenance Mechanic in Schiller Park, Illinois
Description:
The Maintenance Mechanic works in partnership with company leadership and Production leadership to perform basic to extensive maintenance and electrical repairs on food manufacturing machinery equipment, including conveyors, packaging equipment, vacuum sealing equipment , production equipment, electrical controls systems and other related plant systems, while adhering to safety rules and focusing on food safety.
Able to understand simple drawings and wiring diagrams. Able to troubleshoot and repair all mechanical equipment in assigned areas. Able to troubleshoot and analyzes control systems to resolve software/ hardware and configuration problems. Able to proficiently PM assigned equipment with no supervision required. Assists with training Operators on equipment. Follows all safety policies and practices; proactively identifies safety hazards and risks. Much of the work will be production-related in overseeing and repair. Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments. This includes but is not limited to: observing devises in operation to locate root cause of problem; dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examining parts to detect imperfections; adjustment of functional parts of devices and control instruments; repair and/or replacement of defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machine tools. Proficient in the operation of all plant equipment to better troubleshoot and maintain as required. Communicate with team leaders and production associates regarding critical findings during routine inspections. Identify and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary.
