Ellis Medicine Manager Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging in Schenectady, New York

With the guidance of the Departmental Director, and with the assistance of the department supervisors and lead technologists, the manager of outpatient diagnostic imaging is responsible for oversight of the day to day operations primarily for the radiology departments on all campuses including, but not limited to: Patient care delivery, program development, collaborative practice, financial planning. The position also will assist in oversight of all regulatory compliance for the department with assistance of the director and supervisors.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and/or be a graduate of a school of nursing or college/university; a minimum of five years experience in progressive leadership and relevant clinical experience is preferred. Candidate will be encouraged to pursue continuing educational opportunities to further advance and enhance work related skills.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 35 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

    Responsibilities include, with the support of departmental supervisors and lead technologists:

  • Oversight of the outpatient areas for Radiology

  • Oversight of day-to-day operations of all radiology departments at all locations

  • Oversight of all equipment management, contracts, pms, logs and invoice payment

  • Assisting Director with assistance of supervisors and lead techs to ensure the department is running within the standards set upon it by governing bodies such and the Joint Commission and the NYS DOH, and ACR.

  • Assist Director in ensuring adherence by employees to all departmental and organizational policies.

  • Assisting Director with help of supervisors in Policy creation and maintenance.

  • Assisting Director with oversight of departments Environment of Care compliance and logging

  • Assisting Director and Supervisors in maintaining of all incident reports through Midas Reporting system

  • Staff Discipline proceedings with HR and Director as necessary

  • Oversight of all annual performance evaluations for direct reports and those that report to them.

  • Assisting Director in design and maintenance of hospitality type practices that ensure patient safety and patient satisfaction

  • Develop relationships and maintain relationships with staff and leadership within the department and other clinical areas.

  • Manage and maintain non salary and salary budgets as well as assisting in the prep for the annual budgets including monthly variance report completion

  • Assist Director in the capital budgetary process.

  • Oversight with assistance of Director and Supervisors in recruitment and retention efforts.

  • Departmental workflow as it pertains to Radiology in and for other clinical areas

    Salary Range: Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
