Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of the SJCC. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping etc. A Maintenance Technician is a professional with the ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, change ballast, outlets, clean, etc.)
Maintain floors by stripping, waxing and cleaning carpets
Maintain function of toilets, urinals and showers
Repairing and maintaining walls (cutting wood, hanging drywall and taping)
Setting up and tearing down for events
Perform snow removal. (snow blow, shovel)
Able to work flexible hours at times.
Custodial work as needed
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Certification in HVAC or CMRP is a plus
Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
Must have reliable transportation and drivers license
Physical Demands:
Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Good physical condition and strength
Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
Able to kneel, squat and bend for extended periods of time.
