JOB SUMMARY
Proctors Collaborative is the Capital District’s leading regional arts organization with performing arts venues in Albany (Capital Repertory Theatre), Schenectady (Proctors & Key Hall) and Saratoga (Universal Preservation Hall), and education, civic engagement and economic development initiatives throughout the region. The organization is seeking a Food, Beverage & Sales Manager to develop, innovate and deliver a product mix for its banquet room, café, theatre concessions and bars. The candidate must be quality-driven while maintaining aggressive financial returns. This is a co-management position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversight of all food and beverage operations for banquets, café, theatre concessions and bar service
Aid in development and consistent delivery of brand across all outlets
Inventorying of all related food and beverage stock
All aspects of hiring and training staff
Ability to embrace a diverse staff and patron base
Ensure consistency of proper food preparation
Pursue continued improvement of service flow and product offerings
Develop relationships with local caterers and event professionals
Field inquiries for special events
Ensure the success of planning and executing special events
Coordinate and Exhibit at local wedding shows
Explore on-line marketing resources (i.e.: The Knot)
Outreach to the business community for corporate events
Develop sales tools for corporate and social events
Communicate with Finance for payables and receivables
Maintaining a clean, safe work environment that complies with all relevant health standards
Scheduling of food service and bar personnel
Open to traveling to Albany and Saratoga locations as needed
Willingness to recognize and accommodate a variety of client needs to include budgetary and cultural.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to accommodate customers’ needs
Minimum of three-years’ experience in management
Full command of NYS health code requirements. Food safety credentials a plus
Clear and concise communication skills
Proficiency in personal computer skills and ability to learn database programs, experience with Square point-of-sale system a plus
Efficiency needed to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent time management/multi-tasking/organizational skills
Self-motivation and a solution-driven approach
Experience in wholesale food, beverage and liquor inventorying
Ability to track food and beverage costs via invoices and revenue reports
Command of portion control, spoilage and waste reduction through efficient menu planning.
A team player mentality that makes working well with others, particularly during a high-volume time, a natural response
Upbeat, friendly personality
Open to a flexible schedule that can include days, nights and weekends.
