Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Schaumburg, Illinois

Description We are in search of an Accounting Specialist to be part of our team in SCHAUMBURG, Illinois. The chosen candidate will be engaged in various accounting tasks such as processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity where you will also be tasked with monitoring customer accounts and performing necessary actions.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner

• Maintain precise records of customer credit

• Handle customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally

• Monitor customer accounts regularly and take necessary actions when needed

• Manage and input invoices received from vendors

• Handle accounts payable by processing vendor payments and inputting credit card payment transactions

• Responsible for data entry tasks such as posting and invoicing sales entries

• Prepare general journal entries as part of general accounting duties

• Reconcile invoiced sales with contract values for analysis

• Utilize accounting software systems and Microsoft Office Excel for various tasks

• Prepare and submit customer invoices, code, post, and receipt payments

• Conduct all necessary account, banking, and other reconciliations

• Keep track of customer accounts for nonpayment and delayed payment

• Sort, code and enter accounts payable data and analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices

• Prepare payments for signature and maintain vendor files

• Confirm and process timesheets and overtime, verify taxes and other deductions

• Prepare and distribute payroll checks, track employee vacation and sick time

• Update, verify and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records

• Assist in month-end reporting procedures, resolve accounting problems and discrepancies

• Track and audit petty cash and assist with employee expense reports. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Ceridian and Concur

• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to perform all basic Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing principles and practices

• Proficiency in Billing Functions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
