ASP is a leading global provider of innovative sterilization and disinfection solutions, and a pioneer of low-temperature hydrogen peroxide sterilization technology. We support healthcare facilities to protect patients against hospital acquired infections, which are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. ASP’s global portfolio includes capital (e.g. STERRAD for Sterilization and ENDOCLENS for High Level Disinfection), consumables (e.g cassettes, biological indicators, and CIDEX disinfectant), and service.

Headline:

As a member of the ASP Operations leadership team, you will take the lead and drive:

  • Manufacturing Engineering – The centerpiece of this role will reside in driving operations methods for 3 distinct product lines: biological indicators, hydrogen peroxide cassettes, and TS capital platforms. Stewardship of these methods through documentation, training, and technology (e.g. Manufacturing Execution Systems) is the responsibility of this role.

  • Design Transfer Capability – This capability and intendant team and responsibility will be yours to create, nurture, and grow. ASP must be able to economically apply its methods of production regionally and with different business models (sister opco, partnerships, owned production) to ensure highest quality, competitive cost structure, and customer service level.

  • New Product Introduction – Manufacturing engineering in the NPI process will be foundational for this role. Establishing methods in conjunction with product programs and ensuring design for manufacturing is appropriately prioritized for new products will be a critical responsibility. CI of these methods whether internal or external to ASP will critical.

  • Lifecycle Management - Manufacturing engineering for specific product line teams post new product introduction are also part of the charter for this role. Management of running changes and CI activities to current methodologies will be central to this role.

  • Advanced Manufacturing – Working across ASP, Fortive, and with partners, this role will be responsible for ensure that advanced manufacturing techniques for ASP core products are constantly being investigated, tested, and deployed as part driving safety, quality, and cost structure performance in alignment to business CVDs and key KPIs. This role will ensure cutting edge approaches and technologies are used to build ASP products.

  • Supplier Development – implement the Fortive Reliability Supplier System to drive accountability for the performance of our suppliers and manage a robust cost structure in alignment to the business CVDs and key KPIs.

The Role:

You will work inside of ASP across functions (R&D, Product, Commercial, Quality and other Ops functions) to ensure that our operations methods, whether internal or externally executed, are aligned to the growth and margin expansion objectives of the OpCo and Fortive as a whole. Your focus will be to establish standard work for product lines that can be executed across a number of business models. You will report functionally to the VP of Global Operations and your leadership team will consist of managers for NPI, LCM, and Advanced Manufacturing staff experts

Your responsibilities will span both consumables and capital (biological indicators, cassettes and capital product forms in Terminal Sterilization).Through coordination and communication with your Operations leadership peers, you will ensure broad manufacturing engineering and design transfer plans are aligned with other operations functions in support of our common objectives to deliver consistent exceptional quality, on time delivery, cost and service goals on both the existing and new product pipelines in pursuit of ASP’s goals to delight our global hospital and surgery center customers.

You will achieve this by leveraging Fortive Business System tools including kaizens, problem solving, and policy deployment to identify and prioritize areas for focus. Early identification of standard work in conjunction with a rigorous daily management approach will be expected in the drive for phenomenal performance across the many vectors intendant to this position.

The Person:

You are a dynamic and proven operations, manufacturing engineering, or quality leader with significant program management leadership experience and a belief in collaboration. You have a track record of creating and delivering successful results in at least two of the three domains (NPI, LCM, and Advanced Manufacturing) and have driven global strategies and initiatives that drove P&L results. You have grit, drive, commitment to excellence, strong leadership, a focus on accountability, and unquestioned integrity.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of leadership experience including leading across global or regional value streams in the medical technology/ healthcare and/or chemicals industry at scale.

  • Exceptional and inclusive leader, able to design, implement, and lead programs and initiatives to enable our growth strategy.

  • Business and financial acumen with good understanding of P&L. Demonstrated success working across various functions of a business.

  • Effective decision-making skills. Ability to negotiate and balance decisions and priorities across the needs of various functions. Willing to make timely, tough decisions in the face of risk and uncertainty.

  • Highly skilled in responding to business performance with sense of urgency to deliver results using continuous improvement.

  • Adept in translating business needs into breakthrough strategies to accelerate progress and action.

  • Ability to impact and influence decisions and outcomes across the organization without direct reporting relationships. Cooperative work style at all levels in a functional or matrix environment to build and maintain positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferences:

  • Cross-functional operational and/or engineering career experiences.

  • Specific strategic sourcing, manufacturing execution, industrial engineering, and design transfer experiences. Factory start-ups as organic initiatives or JVs is beneficial.

  • Experience working truly globally is a plus – APAC/LATAM/EMEA.

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and/or Fortive or Danaher Business System tools like kaizen, problem solving, policy deployment, operations reviews, and hoshins.

  • A Master’s degree or MBA.
