Landscape Laborer - 5 fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 10/01/2024-12/28/2024.

Duties: Landscape grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: grade/seed/lay sod, planting, watering, mowing, digging, raking, mulching, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds, when necessary.

Must exercise independent judgment; may be asked to demonstrate tasks to other employees but position does not include supervision of other workers.

Employer will provide incidental transportation to and from multiple worksites in Suffolk County from central location.

No minimum education required, 3 months landscaping experience required.

Work days: standard schedule is Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm, 40 hours/week at $20.81/hour. Possible OT at $31.22/hour. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain and drought may affect the exact working hours.

A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Monday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. Employer does not envision other workforce wide payroll deductions.

Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least 3/4 of the workdays in each 6-week period of the total employment period, beginning with the 1st work day after worker arrival at the place of employment and ending on the contract end date or any extension thereof. The employer may include all hours actually worked as well as any hours offered consistent with the job order that a worker chooses not to work, up to the max number of daily hours on the job order.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period.

Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.88/day without receipts or up to $59.00/day with receipts. Transportation reimbursements based on worker's actual cost, not to exceed the most economical common carrier transportation costs for the distances involved.

Workers who voluntarily abandon employment are not entitled to payment for outbound travel costs or the full three-fourths period guarantee described above.
