We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team!
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead and execute mechanical design and analysis efforts, ensuring that products meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including the Electromagnetic Engineering and Validation (EMEV) group, to integrate mechanical designs with broader project requirements. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will guide the Mechanical Design team, provide technical expertise, and contribute to both strategic planning and project execution.
Job Responsibilities: * Lead the mechanical design process for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with performance, reliability, and manufacturability standards. * Collaborate with the EMEV group to integrate mechanical design with electromagnetic and electrical considerations. * Conduct and review stress analysis, load development, and other mechanical system analyses. * Maintain and develop design documentation, including specifications and drawings. * Provide technical leadership during design reviews, ensuring adherence to industry standards and customer requirements. * Mentor Engineers, Designers, and Drafters within the Mechanical Design team. * Review manufacturing drawings for adherence to standards and confirm design meets technical contract requirements. * Support the Engineering Director in strategic planning, offering insights into mechanical design trends and best practices. * Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical design challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams. * Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality regulations in all design activities. * Additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: * Strong expertise in mechanical design and analysis, with a focus on product performance, reliability, and manufacturability. * Proficiency in CAD software and experience in producing detailed design documentation. * Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electromagnetic and electrical engineers. * Strong problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting complex mechanical design issues. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly. * Experience in supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff. * Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical design. Education/Experience Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis, with a strong track record of successful product development. * Experience leading mechanical design projects and working in a cross-functional engineering environment. * Shall maintain a current DoD Security Clearance (at the Secret level minimum)
