Job Title: Production Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, planning, and process improvement. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive production efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and meet key performance indicators.
Responsibilities
Create and manage the production build plan based on customer demand schedules, materials procurement plans, and resource availability.
Assess and implement safety measures to prevent workplace injuries and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Coordinate with site leaders to resolve issues and achieve company objectives.
Develop and maintain mechanisms such as labor standards and cycle times to support production planning activities.
Create and execute a staffing plan in collaboration with Human Resources based on customer demand and budget plans.
Meet daily, monthly, and yearly production key performance indicators for safety, throughput, delivery, yield, efficiency, and costs.
Initiate and lead projects to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and meet delivery goals.
Plan production costs, including overtime, to meet customer demand.
Lead Lean Manufacturing projects to reduce production waste.
Support site safety team activities and ensure compliance with EH&S regulations.
Measure production process outputs such as throughput, yield, efficiency, and costs.
Work with materials and production teams to track inventory and plan for future needs.
Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to purchase materials and drive supply chain efficiency.
Work with maintenance and process engineering to plan for equipment capacity and capability improvements.
Adopt new manufacturing techniques and technologies to increase efficiency, improve product quality, and enhance employee safety.
Create and monitor production budgets.
Evaluate and manage staff performance, including conducting employee reviews and supporting career development.
Interview and evaluate new candidates to fill resource needs.
Lead regular meetings with staff to communicate goals, status updates, and resource issues.
Essential Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience leading production employees in similar manufacturing environments.
Experience managing in ISO-9001 regulated manufacturing companies.
Proven ability to create and execute production build plans, including labor standards and cycle time measures.
Effective coaching and training skills.
Experience in materials and inventory control, as well as leading improvement systems such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
Mechanical and technical skills, including working with product specifications and drawings.
Experience creating and using work instructions, material routers/travelers, and engineering change orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must be able to stand for 4-8 hours.
Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and heavier.
Work Environment
This position requires on-site work five days a week. The work environment includes standing for extended periods and handling materials of varying weights.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
