Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Shop Project Manager to oversee the management of projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all phases of fabrication and ensuring projects are completed on time, to our quality standards and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage multiple projects within the fabrication shop, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry standards (AWS D1.5, AISC ABR, IBR, BU, HYDA, and FCE).
Oversee all aspects of project planning, including scheduling, detailing, material procurement and budgeting.
Ensure project compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Track project progress and make necessary adjustments to schedules and budgets.
Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with Operations to manage and monitor shop resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Liaise with customers to understand project requirements, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous improvement processes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Project Manager in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, preferably in steel structures.
Strong knowledge of AWS D1.5 standards and operations conforming to AISC accreditations.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., PowerFab, Primavera P6, MS Project).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to solve complex problems and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in a fabrication shop environment.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or (7+) years' experience in Steel Fabrication preferred

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a federal contractor.
