The warehouse supervisor is based out of Kinder Morgan's Elba Island Facility located at 1 Elba Island Road, Savannah, GA 31410. Primary Purpose: Warehouse Operations: Accountable for the planning and oversight of the warehouse functions, including critical spare inventory management, project staging, and investment recovery Manage operations of warehouse including staff, facilities and equipment Manage warehouse budget preparation and monthly variance reporting Actively track quarterly scorecard data for warehouse Meet with Operations, Project Management, and Engineering on a regular basis Inventory Management: Develop strategy for inventory stocking levels for warehouse by leveraging items across locations and understanding the business need for spare parts on hand In collaboration with Operations, work to reduce excess inventory across supporting areas Support all required inventory accounting and month-end activity Assist in Lawson technology direction as it applies to all inventory functions such as item master set up, warehouse setup, and inventory reporting and training Accountable for annual physical inventory counts, as well as resolving variances Work on inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestures, including account mapping and inventory accounting training Surplus and Idle Assets Disposition: Actively support corporate strategy for the sales and redeployments of surplus material throughout Kinder Morgan Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and the Online Auction Company Project Support: In collaboration with Project Management, develop plans and manage project material staging Coordinate loading out of project materials with construction contractors, freight carriers and/or Project Support Support the company's disaster response activities including sourcing material and logistics Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrate knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the accounting process, accounting practices related to inventory and surplus sales transactions Drive efforts to standardize general accounting processes Apply and enforce standards and processes consistently Apply advanced investment recovery practices and approaches Perform duties with strict adherence to Kinder Morgan's Corporate Policy Influence business decisions and demonstrate leadership skills Ensure team is properly trained on policies and procedures. Mentor and train less experienced team members Lead the Procurement process and application of Kinder Morgans ethical guidelines Promote Procurement and administration services throughout the organization Possess advanced knowledge of Procurement, Investment Recovery, and Inventory Management policies and procedures Help set and drive the corporate standard, develop procedures and set schedules for the performance of physical inventories, cycle coun s, and inventory audits Calculate and analyze financial metrics Perform analysis of complex projects Analyze actual results to understand variances and revise projections as applicable Manage the submission of monthly accruals and journal entries for team Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly adhoc reporting, as required Supervise and support department budget preparation, monthly variance reporting and projects Provide monthly close analysis with insights into financial performance. Identify and investigate significant variances Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensure appropriate levels are maintained by tracking return rates and conduct physical audits Monitor team's maintenance and support of the Lawson Item Master Lead discussions with Project Management and Operations to locate needed materials throughout Kinder Morgan as well as cross-functional teams to identify process flow efficiencies and develop standardized procedures Assist Operations in identifying surplus and obsolete inventory Work on inventory requirements associated with acquisition integration and divestitures, including account mapping and inventory accounting training Work with field personnel on a routine basis to set and track minimum and maximum inventory levels Perform analysis of inventory mix, production demand and interface regarding levels of inventory Assign and manage progress of special projects assigned to team members Interpret and implement significant details from reports on issues regarding consumer trends and spending Implement and enforce process improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and ensure best practices Develop...
