Position Summary:
Core member of the factory leadership team, leads the engineering & maintenance of the factory, drives continuous improvement of plant assets & facilities, drives the journey to zero loss and develop capabilities of teams under his/her responsibility. Guides the engineering and maintenance team efforts in alignment with Corporate Nestle Engineering and Maintenance foundations, standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, development, and support to team members under the guidance of the Nestle Management and Leadership Principles.
Site Leadership:
• Core member of the site leadership team responsible for driving the overall business results & objectives
• Drive continuous improvement mindset & sustainable processes enabling optimization of Total Delivery Cost of the site
• Provides technical guidance, support and expertise; assisting and coaching Engineering & Maintenance teams, Operations team members to ensure competency and capability development under the guidance of the Nestle Management and Leadership Principles through Leadership at Shopfloor, driving engagement through TPM & maintenance foundations
• Sets and evaluates departmental goals and objectives through a collaborative effort Responsible for the performance, training and development of all departmental personnel
Team Leadership:
• Accountable for capital investment and maintenance budget management. Provides leadership to key personnel to ensure proper capital investment and maintenance budget management is achieved within the factory, including proper communication and reporting. Provides the Engineering/Maintenance leadership for NCE/TPM & functions as a pillar lead.
• Provides both strategic and tactical leadership to the change management process to ensure the system maintains proper change management to meet regulatory requirements with methods that can be practically executed by the technical staff at a reasonable cost to Nestle.
• Ensures that skilled personnel are always available to meet technical business requirements and that talents are developed to sustain performance.
• Provides leadership, direction, and coaching to members of Engineering and Maintenance Staff as well as other staff members as required.
• Conducts performance evaluations and identifies development needs. Identifies training needs and provide the environment that ensures that all employees are sufficiently trained to perform their duties and continue career growth to meet the future growth needs of the department and Nestle
Maintenance & Compliance
• Ensures that factory operations, assets maintained, run efficiently within budget.
• Examines, analyzes losses and takes proactive steps to optimize total delivered cost
• Ensures that necessary utilities are provided to the factory.
• Examines, analyzes losses including energy consumptions and takes proactive steps to eliminate or optimize to improve yields and total delivered cost
• Oversees the evacuation of waste and effluent water from the factory
• Accountable for environmental permits for the site, environmental reporting and compliance of the plant in all environmental areas.
• Ensures that the factory is compliant at all time and Audit Ready for scope of responsibility.
Capital Investments and Projects:
• Prepares the Capital Investment Budget based on business requirements for required production capacity, human and food safety, infrastructure improvements, compliance and the need to replace equipment.
• Provides leadership to develop plans for the implementation of the capital investment plan and directs key personnel to execute these plans with contractors or own staff as appropriate.
• Ensures factory investment strategies are in line with global business and technical direction and factory master plans.
Safety and Environmental:
• Drive factory safety & environmental objectives & targets
• Follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
• Drive the environmental aspects and take action to reduce environmental impacts through elimination of wastes, reduction of consumption, reusing and recycling
Quality:
• Support factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
• Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately.
• Drive implementation of Hygienic Engineering and design
• Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
Experience and Education Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience with a combination of project management, plant engineering experience and maintenance
• 3+ years of domestic or international experience in leadership of large Teams
