Are you passionate about advancing scientific research and development? We are seeking an FCC Testing and Catalyst Deactivation Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will take direct responsibility for delivering small to mid-sized R&D projects that generate new products, processes, and understanding. You will also support research projects by providing advanced techniques and translating technical knowledge into commercial value. Your responsibilities :
Operate and maintainstate-of-the-art FCC testing units to ensure accurate and timely delivery of performance testing data.
Lead the development and implementation of new testing protocols and deactivation methods to properly discriminate catalyst performance and accelerate new product development.
Ensure all ACE units are fully calibrated, functional, and meet high productivity standards.
Collaborate with Catalyst Development Scientists to implement the best deactivation and testing methodologies, advancing NPI projects rapidly.
Apply design of experiment methodologies and statistical analysis to guarantee data-driven decision-making.
Maintain awareness of competitor products, industry trends, literature, and patents related to FCC catalysts and additives, seeking opportunities to create and capture intellectual property.
Requirements for the role:
Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or advanced engineering, or demonstrable applicable experience
ExperienceMinimum of 5 years in a characterization or R&D environment with strong ties to business and manufacturing support projects
The successful candidate is expected to have a high level of expertise in several of the following areas:• Semi works, pilot plant, small scale lab equipment in fundamental or applied R&D and characterization techniques (GC, IR, XRD, BET, XAS, particle analysis, SEM)• Catalyst testing and performance evaluation• High degree of technical problem-solving skills• Knowledge of FCC Catalysts, especially development, deactivation, and testing (highly desirable)
Special Factors:
10% travel to foster strong working relationships.
The physical ability to work in a laboratory environment and with technology equipment.
A full driving license.
