Fabcon Precast Sales & Preconstruction Engineer - WTE in Savage, Minnesota

Purpose/Scope
Apply knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to manage sales opportunities within the Work To Existing business unit including estimates and proposals to secure new work that meets the needs of our customers and our expectations for each project as well as support various sales activities to drive new W2E business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Interact with internal team and external customers as necessary from sales inquiry through project listing to secure required information to create estimates, proposals and list projects.
Support all W2E Sales efforts to secure new opportunities and manage and track as necessary.
Interact with project owners, architectural and engineering firms as necessary.
Provide high levels of customer service to both internal and external customers
Work with all internal departments including Sales, Project Managers, Engineering, Estimating, Field and others.
Problem resolution including, but not limited to, estimate creation and scope development of opportunities to understand customers needs and work internally to accomplish.
Attend site meetings/inspections as required.
Attend regular departmental weekly meetings regarding opportunities, scheduling, costs and others as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field
2 years’ experience in preconstruction in the construction industry
Pre-cast and/or pre-stressed concrete experience
Other Required Qualifications
Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team environment
Customer Service focus with excellent verbal and written social skills
Good computer skills; proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
An understanding of construction with the ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
An understanding of basic business finance
Experience with problem solving and handling multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Estimating, Sales and/or PM experience in construction industry
Experience influencing without authority on cross-functional team
Experience with databases
Basic understanding of pre-stressed concrete structural design considerations and limitations
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel
Office: Move 25lbs, work with a computer for extended periods of time, use of telephone and video-conferencing technology
Field: Traverse uneven ground, spatial awareness/depth perception to interact with large, moving equipment and materials
Work Environment
Normal office working environment and visits to project sites as necessary
Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Mid-west and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, natural and/or uneven ground including loose dirt and rocks, semi-trucks will be present and interacting with the job site
