Northern Michigan Insurance Agency is hiring a detail-oriented and personable customer service representative/licensed agent to join their team. Main responsibilities will be supporting the agent by taking phone calls, checking emails, and directing customer inquiries to the appropriate department. You will also process and file paperwork to help the office run smoothly. Preferred qualifications include current Michigan State Licensing in P & C, but we are willing to work with candidates who do not have a license.  Learn on the job and get paid as you study the coursework to become licensed. Coursework and testing paid for by the agency. Pay is starting wage with room for growth!

Responsibilities (CSR):

• Handling customer phone calls

• Producing reports for the agent

• Reviewing insurance applications for accuracy

• Helping clients file new claims

• Process client payments

• Maintain all insurance documents in a confident way

• Responsibilities (Licensed Agent):

  • Assists clients in selecting insurance policies that best meet their needs, preferences and budgets
  • Educate customers on types of insurance coverage and make recommendations based on their needs
  • Evaluate current insurance policies and recommend additional coverage when needed
  • Meet or speak with clients daily, providing information about policies and answering questions related to coverage and premiums

  Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience as an Insurance Agent/Assistant or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with all types of insurance plans (automobile, fire, life, property, etc.)
  • Proficient in computer software and statistical analysis
  • Proven ability to work with goals
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, influence and sell effectively
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting relationships

  This position is with an AAA insurance entrepreneurial agency, not with AAA Insurance Companies. This position requires successful completion of any applicable licensing requirements and training programs. As an agent team member, you will still need to go through the State of Michigan Licensing process when you are ready to pursue an agency opportunity. AAA Agents are independent contractors who hire their own employees. AAA agents' employees are not employees of AAA Insurance.
