Independent Lifestyles Inc (ILICIL) is looking for dependable, happy, upbeat people for Independent Living Skills work. The Independent Living Skills Specialist position is designed to help people with disabilities, mental health conditions or chronic illnesses to gain independence and broaden their life skills at home and in the community. Our company prides themselves on creating a supportive, therapeutic, positive environment for the individuals that are served. ILS workers are trainers who work one-on-one with a person to increase their life skills. Independent Lifestyles serves 11 counties: Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Wright, Morrison, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Chisago, Isanti, Meeker and Kandiyohi. Our offices are located in Sauk Rapids and Specialists will travel to consumers in the 11 county area. Job Responsibilities include: -Conduct training which includes assisting individuals with identifying goals, then developing and implementing individualized coaching plans to meet the goals. Coaching includes, but is not limited to the following areas: -Career/job development -Money management -Health insurance -Daily living skills -Household management -Mobility -Peer support -Self and individual advocacy -Assertiveness and -Socialization >Daily travel to meet consumers in the community and/or their home in the St. Cloud, MN (and surrounding 11 county) area >Provide individual advocacy to compliment Individuals self-advocacy, when needed and appropriate >Facilitate timely completion of Independent Living plans or goals, providing services in support of goals >Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with individuals, staff and peers >Conduct systems advocacy as opportunities arise >Update progress into the agency database as required
