Oberg Industries Die Maintenance Technician in Sarver, Pennsylvania

At Oberg Industries Metal Stamping Center located in Sarver, PA, our team is looking for a skilled Die Maintenance Technician to join our team.  The Die Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assembling new dies and components of tools in preparation for stamping operations, as well as, assisting in the development of the die after die try-out.  They will also be responsible for troubleshooting and debugging tooling and press set-up issues.  The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ experience working with progressive stamping tools and presses, as well as some experience with grinding and/or machining.   This is a daylight shift position, with overtime opportunities.   Be a part of something bigger and join our Oberg team! 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.   

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble dies when defects or breakdowns occur. Utilize tools and machinery such as grinders, lathes, and milling machines to make necessary adjustments.

  • Support production team in setting up dies for manufacturing runs, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.

  • Conduct regular inspections of dies to identify wear, damage, or other issues and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance as needed.

  • Quickly diagnose die-related issues during production to minimize downtime.

  • Conduct inventory to prepare for die assembly.

  • Visually inspect stamped parts for defects using the naked-eye and/or microscope.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a standing, sitting, or bent position for 10 hours/day and must be able to lift a maximum of 35 pounds with control and unassisted.  The employee must be able to raise arms above shoulders and maintain dexterity for extended periods of time and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and be able to stoop or kneel for excessive periods of time.  The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.  The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment.  This position requires on-site work.  Remote work options are not available.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Knowledge of die components, materials, and repair techniques.

  • Strong mechanical skills and experience using hand and power tools.

  • Familiarity with CNC machines, grinders, lathes, and other machining equipment.

  • Must possess knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

  • Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.

  • Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations. 

     

    PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Press Operator experience preferred.
