Compensation
22.60 - 27.06 Per Hour
Job Summary
The Plant Operator’s responsibility is to operate the asphalt plant to produce asphalt that meets quality standards
Safety
Participating actively in company safety programs, including safety huddles, one-on-one safety conversations, and reporting of close calls
Promoting safe work practices and excellent safety culture
Reporting any safety issues or incidents immediately
Participating in any safety incident investigate
Following all safety policies and procedures, including LOTOTO, Motor Vehicle Policy, Drug & Alcohol Policy, etc.
Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks assigned.
Working with Plant Manager and Plant Superintendent to continuously improve our safety practices.
Maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent safety hazards
Quality
Identifying issues in equipment that will affect the quality of the product
Identifying and reporting changes in production
Working with onsite laboratory technicians and QC/QA to maintain mix design quality
Functional/Technical
Identifying and reporting plant deficiencies to the Plant Superintendent so they can be addressed in a timely manner for proper repair
Performing maintenance and repairs with professionalism and quality in mind to maximize plant efficiency
Maintaining plant facilities in a professional manner by keeping tools, equipment, and buildings clean and orderly with safety in mind
Operating asphalt plant and mobile equipment associated with plant operations
Teamwork and Communication
Working in a team environment; assisting co-workers and supervisors with assigned duties
Communicating openly, honestly, and professionally with co-workers, supervisors, and all others
Working alongside fellow employees to complete assigned tasks sometimes under adverse working conditions to meet goals set forth by management
Education and Minimum Experience
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Previous work experience in asphalt manufacturing, concrete manufacturing, or construction is preferred
Previous welding experience is preferred
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions
Ability to lift up to 75lbs
Ability to stand for hours at a time
Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders

Have a solid understanding of mechanical systems including:
Power Transmission
Hydraulics
Pneumatics
Conveyor systems
Possess knowledge and abilities to perform general repairs on plant equipment using standard industrial tools.
