Job Profile

The Demand Modeler is in charge of the Statistical Baseline Forecast for their market. Handles all the data and Forecasting System Management. Provides key inputs on trends and variabilities on the demand.

Role Description

Demand Forecasting: Is the person in charge to Develop and maintain demand forecasting models using statistical algorithms, machine learning techniques, and historical sales data to predict future demand trends accurately.

Performance Monitoring: Responds for the accuracy of the forecast driving adjustments to enhance forecast reliability.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input, validate forecasts, and ensure alignment of demand plans with business objectives.

Scenario Planning: Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the impact of various factors such as pricing changes, promotional campaigns, and market fluctuations on demand forecasts and recommend mitigation strategies.

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of advancements in demand forecasting methodologies, tools, and technologies, and proactively implement best practices to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.

Provide key input to IBP process: Collaborate with IBP Lead and Demand Planner to conduct root cause analysis to identify drivers of forecast error and work together to take the necessary corrective action to drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and bias performance.

Skills

Analytical skills - Needs to be able to interpret complex datasets and perform statistical analysis.

Proficiency with software - Needs to be familiar with specialized forecasting software and Excel. They also need to be proficient with advanced planning software and ERP systems.

Communication skills - Needs to be able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, from sourcing information to explaining forecast results.

Data analysis - Uses data analytics to analyze historical sales data and use algorithms to estimate future sales.
