Role Purpose

To produce macroeconomic analysis and forecasts for the Brazil economy, market the views to internal and external clients of the bank and contribute to regular publications and thematic research covering Brazil, Latin America and Global markets.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Formulate short-term and medium-term economic and policy forecasts for Brazil

• Publish thematic pieces on Brazil as well as regular data notes and updates on cyclical forecasts both as standalone pieces and as contributions to Global Economics publications

• Make regular briefings at local and regional morning meetings

• Market research to external clients of fixed income, FX, equity and Global Banking clients through presentations/meetings, calls and emails

• Organise and run reverse roadshows for clients visiting Brazil to meet political experts and policymakers and facilitate high level discussions at those meetings.

• Provide prompt and accurate responses to internal and external client requests including contributions to HSBC annual reports, operating plans etc. Work closely with other memebers of the Latin American Research teams, paricularly the economists in Mexico and Argentina, as well as the regional market strategies.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

• Strong technical skills in Economy, Inflation Growth

• Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;

• Proven experience -Economist Role

• Able to communicate proficiently in Portuguese and English
