Franklin Mountain Packaging Flexo Press Operator in Santa Teresa, New Mexico
JOB SUMMARY
[This position is responsible for the operation of a flexographic printing press. The operator will possess a combination of knowledge, skill, and abilities to carry out work activities related to the operation of the flexographic printing press.

- Set up, adjust, maintain, and operate a flexographic press
- Install Anilox rollers and plates, inks and dies into proper stations, making necessary adjustments to maintain the quality of production
- Notify supervision of needed repairs and replacement parts
- Deliver finished material to MFG areas as required
- Ensure that assigned equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition
- Understands all documents related to the printing process and adhere to specification requirements
- Operate assigned equipment to best of ability, ensuring safety, quality of goods and productivity for yourself and any assigned Assistant Operators or Helper/Packers.
- Re-positions printing plates, adjust pressure rolls, or otherwise adjusts machines to improve print quality, using knobs, and wheels, or computer.
- Sets and adjusts speed, ink flow, and positions and pressure tolerances of equipment.
- Inspects and examines printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications, and external defects using specific test methods and equipment.
- Pushes buttons, turns handles or moves controls and levers to start and control press.
- Performs all tasks according to the production schedule.
- Use quality instruments to measure quality with industry-specific equipment
- Read tape measure in metric and standard measurement systems
- Continuously perform visual inspections to ensure product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Count items accurately to maintain an accurate inventory of materials produced, supplies used and available inventory
- Perform minor maintenance such as oiling/lubricating machine parts
- Attend required training and/or meetings: safety, quality, and productivity
- Train assistant operators and others, as required, to achieve company objectives
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects
- Communicate with other plant personnel to solve production problems as a team
- Record safety, quality, production and maintenance data on various paperwork and computers as required
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the entire facility
- Assist in packing product, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office and be regularly exposed to the manufacturing environment.
- The noise level in the work environment will require PPE.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
