Description We are on the hunt for a Software Engineer in Santa Monica, California. This role plays a crucial part in our team by developing, scaling, and improving our data analytics platform using advanced big data technologies. The work environment is a mix of on-premise and cloud technologies, offering a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect solutions for our data platform and its services

• Develop and implement large-scale high-throughput solutions

• Utilize a variety of technologies including Kafka, Spark on Hadoop/Hive/S3, AWS Lambda, Terraform, and Kubernetes

• Participate in innovative solutions to challenging technical problems and introduce new technologies to our data platform

• Diagnose and debug issues in development, staging and production environments

• Collaborate with product/program managers, software developers and analysts in a creative environment

• Utilize skills in Design, Cloud Technologies, SAN - Storage Area Network, Computer Sciences, Data Analytics, Go, Diagnose Problems, Scale Out, S3, Technical Problems, Big Data, Production Environment, Kubernetes, Stream Processing, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Terraform, Data Platform, Apache Kafka, Hadoop Hive, Next-Generation Sequencing, Debug Issues, AWS Lambda. Requirements • Proficiency in designing software applications

• Practical experience with cloud technologies

• Knowledge of SAN - Storage Area Network

• Degree in computer sciences or a related field

• Strong skills in data analytics

• Proficiency in Go programming language

• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems

• Experience with scale-out architectures

• Familiarity with S3 storage service

• Ability to work with big data

• Experience working in a production environment

• Proficiency in Kubernetes and Terraform

• Experience with stream processing, Apache Spark, and Hadoop

• Familiarity with data platforms, Apache Kafka, and Hadoop Hive

• Experience with next-generation sequencing

• Ability to debug issues

• Knowledge of AWS Lambda

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement

• Strong understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies
