Sinclair Broadcast Group Associate Producer/Assistant Editor, Social Content, Sports in Santa Monica, California

Our team is a passionate group of sports enthusiasts eager to grow our content offering on all platforms and in all mediums. In this position you will play a key supporting role in the daily production and publishing of local and national sports content on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Reddit, and our sites. If you are passionate about sports and have a knack for both content creation and community management, this role is for you. To succeed in this role, you must be well-versed in the language of the internet, hyperaware of social trends, and possess the ability to bring a creative vision to life.
CORE RESPONSIBLITIES:
Asset Creation: modern communication is driven by the social content that we share, and it will be your responsibility to create an ever-expanding library of high engaging assets to be distributed across all channels in support of our shows that
Social Production: successful shows need to exist in the days between episode releases, and in this role, you will work the producers and strategists to develop, produce, and edit series adjacent content that expands the brand and the talent in our shows in a meaningful way
Operational Support: no production ever goes smoothly, and you will be expected to attend all tapings/recordings to provide any technical support or troubleshooting as needed
Integrations Oversight: you will be a key liaison between production and sales, ensuring all brand/product obligations are met for each show
Publishing and Optimization: every platform is different, and it will be your responsibility to ensure all assets are created in the appropriate aspect ratios, and you will also oversee the upload process to ensure publishing best practices are followed for the greatest potential reach
Competitive Research/Creative Development: you will be expected to maintain a finger on the pulse of sports culture, identifying key competitors we can be inspired by, and suggest ways in which we can develop our content strategies to further our success
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in social media and/or podcast production/editing, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
Deep understanding of social media platforms, their algorithms, and audience-building strategies.
Experience shooting and editing original social content, with examples to share.
Familiarity with creative tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, Capsule, etc.
A passion for sports and an understanding of the sports media landscape.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $26.44 to $33.65 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
