Guardian Life Long Term Disability - Claims Technical Consultant in Santa Fe, New Mexico

The Long Term Disability - Claims Technical Consultant is responsible for day-to-day execution to drive delivery of key metric results while growing claim management accuracy and service delivery. In this role, you will develop and maintain a culture of improvement by identifying root cause, problem solving, identify solutions to improve performance and innovation.

You will

  • Mentor and coach members of the team in conjunction with the team leader.

  • Provide technical support to claim teams including Claim Auth reviews, serve as SME on complex issues.

  • Drive improvements in initial claim decision, Claim Management Accuracy and & CID turnaround times.

  • Leverage automation and/or alternate sourcing options to handle additional tasks.

  • Collaborate with all lines of business to promote best practices to improve efficiency.

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert to support timely and effective delivery of Workstream Initiatives.

You have

  • 3+ years LTD claims handling experience, prior DI experience or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 1 year experience providing feedback to front line staff and front-line supervisors.

  • Extensive knowledge of Group Long Term disability products, administration, and claims procedures.

  • Knowledge of PC Applications (including Microsoft Office, databases, imaging systems, etc.).

  • Superior working knowledge of the financial, medical, occupational, and investigative aspects of disability claims management.

  • Excellent PC skills with knowledge of MS Word/Excel/PPT.

  • Ability to mentor/coach staff and peers to ensure proper claim adjudication and contribute to staff development.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risk.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven training skills on an individual and team basis.

Location and Travel

This is a flexible position requiring occasional travel into one of our offices including Bethlehem and Plano for team meetings.

Salary Range

$56,200.00 - $92,335.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
