PDS Tech Inc Aerospace Test Stand Technician in Santa Cruz, California

Join our dynamic Testing Team! We are seeking motivated Test Technicians responsible for assembling, operating, troubleshooting, and decommissioning test stands and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and operate test stands using engineering drawings and models.

  • Install instrumentation, including gauging and wiring, and operate data acquisition equipment.

  • Set up mechanical/structural components of test stands.

  • Work closely with engineers to resolve issues.

  • Ensure clean, safe work areas and maintain equipment.

  • Communicate test status and needs effectively.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and build unique test fixtures.

  • Read drawings and CAD models to assemble systems.

  • Select and procure necessary hardware and tools.

  • Create assembly instructions and bill of materials.

  • Follow test procedures and troubleshoot issues.

  • Maintain lab space and inventory.

  • Adhere to safety practices.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with data acquisition devices and sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges).

  • Proficiency with basic electronics tools (oscilloscope, multimeter).

  • Ability to work from procedures and drawings with minimal guidance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years experience as a technician with emphasis on instrumentation or servo hydraulic system maintenance.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency with hand tools and machine shop tools (mill, drill, chop saw).

  • Experience operating a forklift and rigging equipment.

  • Ability to read drawings for mechanical setup and torque bolted equipment.

  • Understanding of aerospace safety standards and tool control.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $45.00 per hour
