The Opportunity
Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Specialist Supply Chain in our Santa Clara, CA location. The Sr. Specialist Supply Chain will be responsible for managing several key areas within Supply Chain including inventory control, supply chain projects, supplier management and Third-Party Manufacturing (TPM) management. This role will work in coordination with planning, purchasing, reagent, instrument and warehouse to ensure excellent customer service.
What You’ll Work On
Receives, verifies and processes sales orders and stock transport orders (STO) for internal and external customers. Researches and resolves issues with orders received, correct as necessary and enter into SAP for processing.
Evaluates existing supply chain process to identify areas that need optimization and implement the changes.
Supports supply chain manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive supply chain strategy.
Collaborates on supply chain procedures, including inventory management, warehousing, automation, systems integration, and distribution.
Prepare, summarizes, and presents data accuracy, delivery performance for all key suppliers and inventory related metrics to assess performance, modify production plan and assess/prioritize focused improvement efforts.
Works in conjugation with planning and distribution centers to develop and publish inventory related metrics including forecast accuracy, stock levels and Abbott entity delivery performance.
Communicates any shortage or any performance concerns with suppliers to management as required and provides information on projected inventory availability for backordered items.
Collaborates with production planning and purchasing to ensure customer requirements are understood and to identify and remove obstacles that may prevent on time delivery.
Improve reporting data and access to data across the organization including report automation, schedule adherence and tracking.
Creates business case justifications for supply chain projects as it pertains to planning, production, and inventory.
Provides support role for all projects involving production, procurement, and planning which includes : IT initiatives, process improvements, and lean projects.
Continually identifies opportunities for improvement within the supply chain function.
Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations or other related filed or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a supply chain strategy, supply chain analyst, project management role.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with Business Objects, SAP BW, or congos reporting.
Proven ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
Proven ability to communicate clearly to the cross-functional team and leadership level.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing projects: Kaizen, Kanban, Poke Yoke, etc
SAP/APO/DP/SNP experience in a production environment preferred.

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 – $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
