Job Duties: Work with the Robotics and Control team as well as the Clinical, SW, Hardware and Systems Engineering teams to bring to life the control of the surgical robot and instruments. Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products, using drafting tools or computer-assisted drafting equipment or software. Work with other experts in Medical Robotics and Controls to design and implement innovative algorithms in production software for real-time, safety critical applications. Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems. Develop SW algorithms in C for Robot kinematics and dynamics, Robot Motion Algorithms (Motion planning, Collision detection, Trajectory generation), Control Algorithms (Force Control, Impedance and Admittance Control), etc. Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Participate in design and improvement of real-time SW. Serve as a software technical resource for other developers, providing leadership in robotics and control systems architectural decisions.

Qualifications

Requirements: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Robotics and Controls Engineer-related occupation.
