We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems to support the end-to-end machine learning (ML) lifecycle. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced software engineer with a strong background in backend development and API design. They should be skilled in building scalable, high-performance RESTful services and have a proven track record of implementing APIs that serve SDKs and front-end user interfaces. This candidate should have understanding both the architectural challenges and practical aspects of deploying and maintaining services in cloud environment. Description
You'll be part of ML Lifecycle team in MLPT that provides platform for ML model training, evaluation, and workflow. This platform integrates various internal ML systems and frameworks to orchestrate ML processes. You will also partner closely with product managers and partner teams to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions. Your role will also involve designing and deploying large-scale micro-services in third party cloud.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field
Demonstrated ability in software engineering with a focus on distributed systems
Proven experience in building complex micro-services
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
In depth knowledge of distributed systems including: consistency, availability, and fault tolerance
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Key Qualifications

Advance degrees in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with ML tools and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow)
Experience with CI/CD processes and tools
Experience with MLOps practices and tools

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
